Smoke-Free Housing

Welcome. Please be advised that the Tobacco Public Policy Center's funding source, the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation, was recently abolished by the Ohio state legislature. As a result, the Tobacco Public Policy Center at Capital University Law School no longer maintains paid staff, and no one is available to address specific questions. At the present time, the information on this website remains available for review. Please note that the website was last updated on or around July 1, 2008, and will no longer be updated. Tell the public about your cleaner, healthier,
smoke-free housing.

Thousands of Ohio residents are looking for healthy smoke-free apartments to call home. And it’s easy to get the word out about your policy.

Start by adding the phrase ‘smoke-free’ to your logo and put the new mark on your mailings, business cards, and other promotional materials. You may also want to put the statement prominently on your property website. You can advertise your new smoke-free status in local papers, especially in housing listings for the elderly or infirmed.

Click here to download our Smoke-Free Housing Toolkit. And don’t forget to join our Smoke-Free Housing Registry. It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s a great source for residents looking for clean, healthy, smoke-free living environments.
