Previously, she was a visiting professor of law at DePaul University College of Law where she taught Business Organizations and Intellectual Property Transactions. She practiced corporate, securities and intellectual property transactional law with Testa, Hurwitz and Thibeault, LLP in Boston, MA and then McCutchen, Doyle, Brown and Enersen, LLP in Palo Alto, CA. While a student at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Professor Burch was awarded the UC Hastings Long Scholarship and the Charlotte & Cecil Poole Scholarship and served as the senior symposium editor for the Hastings West-Northwest Journal of Environmental Law & Policy. Professor Burch was previously the director of computer services at Harvard University Kennedy School of Government and consultant for Ernst and Young, LLP. Her scholarly interests include securities law, corporate governance and empirical research on director behavior.
