
Faculty BiosJeffrey T. Ferriell Professor Ferriell joined the Capital faculty in 1987. He also regularly teaches at the Moritz College of Law at the Ohio State University. He has variously taught at the University of Illinois College of Law, Santa Clara University, Ohio Northern University, the University of San Diego. At Capital he teaches Contracts, Secured Transactions, and Debtors' & Creditors' Rights. He has also taught Antitrust, Bankruptcy Reorganizations, Payment Systems, Consumer Law, Federal Courts, Legal Research & Writing, Legal Analysis Real Estate Finance, and Professional Responsibility. He served as advisor to Capital's National Moot Court Team from 1987-2003. Professor Ferriell is the co-author of "Understanding Contracts" (Lexis/Nexis 2004) (with former Penn State/Dickinson Law School Professor Mike Navin). He is also the author of a two-volume treatise on the Uniform Commercial Code in Ohio, "Baldwin's Ohio Practice, Commercial Code" (West 1996), as well as numerous articles on bankruptcy law and jurisdiction. He is currently working, with Professor Ted Janger (Brooklyn Law School) on "Understanding Bankruptcy" to be published by Lexis/Nexis as part of its "Understanding" series of law school hornbooks. Professor Ferriell has been licensed to practice in California since 1978 where he worked, for a short time, with the firm of Caldecott, Phillips & Downey, in the San Francisco Bay Area. His personal interests include bicycle racing and he holds an Extra Class FCC amateur radio license (K8ZDA). [
