CLEAN INDOOR AIR NEWS - Air Quality in Ohio Workplaces Improves Dramatically Following Smokefree Workplace Law

December 10, 2007

One year after Ohioans voted strongly in favor of a smokefree workplace law, a study of the air quality in Ohio workplaces before and after the law went into effect has revealed that indoor air pollution declined 94 percent.  The study was conducted by the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, which measured the air quality in 29 locations before and after the law according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards.  “The Ohio Air Monitoring Study is a reminder that voters did the right thing, and they should be applauded for their support of this critical public health policy,” said Mike Renner, Executive Director of the Ohio Tobacco Prevention Foundation.
