Micah L. Berman is the Center's executive director, with overall responsibility for the management and operations of the Center. He speaks regularly to audiences around Ohio about tobacco control issues and chairs the policy committee of the Ohio Tobacco Control Resource Group. For 2007-2008, Berman is also a visiting assistant professor of law at Capital University Law School, teaching Public Health Law and Torts.
Prior to being named the Center’s first executive director in February 2005, Berman served as political director for the Fingerhut for U.S. Senate campaign and as a litigation associate with the law firm of Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP. He was previously a trial attorney with the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division.
Berman earned a J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School, where he was managing editor of the Stanford Law Review. He received a B.A. with highest honors in Public Policy from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
