Law School Celebrates First Graduating Class of LCP ProgramOn August 10, 2003, the inaugural class of the Capital University Law School Life Care Planner Program proudly completed their program at Capital with a brief, but moving, graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, course planners/faculty members Sheila Cottle and Donna Schoebel were recognized, along with the efforts of our other faculty and administrative staff. Recognition also was given to the family and friends of the graduating students for their support and the sacrifices they made so their loved ones could successfully complete this intensive program. As graduates of the only Life Care Planner program in the country that is part of an ABA approved paralegal program, the new professionals were encouraged to go forth and educate the Columbus legal community as to the value of having a trained life care planner as part of the legal team. After the certificates were awarded, in a spontaneous addition to the ceremony, the students expressed their appreciation for the quality education they received at Capital and their excitement over their new profession. The staff and administrators responsible for the success of the program received a framed award including sayings entitled Lessons from Geese and sections of a quilt signed by the graduating students of this inaugural class. Four awards were presented. After the graduation ceremony, the students and their families attended a brunch hosted by the Graduate Law Programs Office. |
