Guttenberg Elected to CBA Board of Governors
|
Dean Jack A. Guttenberg |
Guttenberg, who is among the 8,000 attorney members of the CBA, said he accepted the nomination to run for the board because he believes that there needs to be a strong connection between legal education and the legal profession. “My service on the board will help build stronger ties between law students and faculty and the organized bar and profession,” he said.
Guttenberg has served as dean and professor of law at Capital University Law School since July 2004. He previously had been on the faculty at Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. An expert on ethics and professional responsibility, he is co-author of the treatise, Ohio Law of Professional Conduct (Lexis Nexis, 2007). Guttenberg was a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio Task Force on Rules of Professional Conduct, which was charged with redrafting the rules of conduct governing the legal profession in Ohio, and he recently was appointed by Chief Justice Thomas J. Moyer to serve on the Supreme Court of Ohio Task Force to Review the Ohio Disciplinary System. As a member of this task force, Guttenberg will be conducting a comprehensive review of the organizational rules and procedures currently in place to investigate, prosecute and adjudicate allegations of professional misconduct among Ohio lawyers and judges.
Guttenberg, along with the other elected CBA board members, will be sworn in at the CBA’s Annual Meeting on June 12, at the Hyatt on Capitol Square.
