Mays Appointed to Ohio Ethics Commission

Associate Dean Shirley Mays

Gov. Ted Strickland appointed Associate Dean Shirley Mays to the Ohio Ethics Commission.

Formed in 1973, the six-member commission interprets and administers the state ethics law for the majority of state and local public officials and employees.

Dean Mays teaches courses in Local Government Law, Sex-based Discrimination and Business Associations. Prior to joining the Capital law faculty in 1991, she practiced law in the public/municipal finance department with the law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey. She was formerly a judicial clerk for the Honorable Thomas J. Moyer, chief justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.
