New
Era for Alumni Association and Board
In Fall 2004, Dean Jack Guttenberg initiated a strategic
planning process for the Capital University Law School Alumni Association.
Since then, a dedicated group of alumni volunteers have worked with
the Office of Alumni Relations staff and an external consultant
to draft a new mission and vision for the Alumni Association. During
this process, a new Alumni Association Board was formed which included
former board members and new volunteers. On Friday, June 10, 2005,
the new Capital University Law School Alumni Association Board held
its first working meeting and adopted the following mission, vision,
core values and key result areas in which it will work:
Mission
-
We will support and connect alumni;
-
model professional standards;
-
assist with student recruitment, mentoring and placement;
-
and help strengthen the Law School’s reputation and
resources.
Vision
-
Credibility, pride and career success of graduates;
-
every alumnus involved with the Association and the Law
School;
-
a significant and growing endowment;
-
and a Law School known for its tradition of academic excellence
and superb service to community and profession.
Core Values
We are committed to:
-
Stewardship of our degrees by giving back to
the Law School, its students and the profession.
-
The highest professional standards.
-
Providing access and opportunities to the profession.
-
Working together in the spirit of team.
Key Result Areas
-
Networking/Connectivity to the Law School
-
-
-
Strategic Feedback/Needs Assessment
-
Throughout the next year, the Alumni Association Board
and the Law School staff will begin engaging the entire Alumni Association
within the five key result areas. From networking or social events,
to professional enhancement opportunities, from assisting in student
recruitment to participating in an alumni survey, the new Capital
