Sponsors 2nd Annual Colloquium in Corporate and Business Law, March 29,

The Capital Law School Corporate & Business Law Association
is sponsoring its 2nd annual colloquium entitled The Corporate Attorney's
Role in Creating an Ethical Corporate Culture, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Tuesday,
March 29, 2005, at the Columbus Renaissance Hotel, 50 N. 3rd St., Columbus,
OH.
Post-Enron and WorldCom, the standard of conduct for corporations and
corporate actors has changed. This program will explore the corporate
lawyer’s role in the process of guiding a corporation’s efforts
to rejuvenate or to enhance the corporation’s ethical culture, including:

What systems should a corporation have in place to investigate allegations
of fraud or other illegal conduct in a public company?

What role does the attorney play in those investigations?
-
What types of documents related to compliance systems must be preserved?
-
How can the attorneys/judges own practical experience and application
of the law help a corporation comply with the ethical standards and
codes of professionalism?

The CLE will be followed by a networking and award reception. Guests
and members of the Corporate and Business Law Association are invited
to participate in the reception and awards ceremony following the event.
The CBLA is requesting 3.5 CLE. The cost is $20 and proceeds from this
event will help to fund the Corporate and Business Law Association’s
Endowment Scholarship Fund.
