March 25, 2004

March 16, 2004, the African American Law Alumni Association presented Jack G. Gibbs, Jr., ‘81L, a Columbus-area attorney, with this year's David D. White award.

The award, hosted this year by Chester Willcox & Saxbe and The Law Offices of Squire & Pierre-Louis, LLC, commemorates the first African American graduate of Capital University Law School, David D. This annual event funds four scholarships for African American law students.

Gibbs has been in private practice for more than twenty years. In addition, Gibbs is active in his community. He teaches probate law and estate planning seminars for attorneys and conducts lectures to church and community groups. He is a Big Brother and coaches youth basketball and baseball.
