Jack G. Gibbs, Jr., ‘81L, a Columbus-area attorney, is this year’s recipient of the David D. White Award. The award reception, to be hosted on March 16, by Chester Willcox & Saxbe and The Law Offices of Squire & Pierre-Louis, LLC, commemorates the first African American graduate of Capital University Law School, David D. White, ’31. Presented by the African American Law Alumni Association, the award honors an individual whose legal and civic accomplishments serve as a model for African American students. This event funds four scholarships for African American law students.
Gibbs has been in private practice for more than twenty years. In addition, Gibbs is active in his community. He teaches probate law and estate planning seminars for attorneys and conducts lectures to church and community groups. He is a Big Brother and coaches youth basketball and baseball.
