Former Mayor Greg Lashutka Speaks at Capital University Law School

October 12, 2004

Greg Lashutka

Former Mayor of Columbus Greg Lashutka spoke at Capital University Law School on October 11, 2004. He greeted about forty students at the Law School from which he graduated with a juris doctor in 1974.

Lashutka’s talk began with praise for the Law School faculty. He focused on the opportunities that come with a law degree, both in practicing law and in other careers. He advised students and young lawyers to enjoy each experience as a fun, learning opportunity instead of looking for the next step. Additionally, he spoke about Republican ideals, including corporate self-governance, and the upcoming presidential election.

Lashutka was mayor of Columbus, Ohio, from 1992 to 2000. Currently, he works for Nationwide as Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations. His areas of practice are governmental relations and insurance.

The event was sponsored by the Capital University Law School Republicans.
