Mr. Michaels has been in public accounting
since 1971. He is a partner in Deloitte & Touche's Columbus Tax Practice.
Mr. Michaels is in charge of D&T's Private Client Advisory (PCA) group
in the Columbus office. Mr. Michael's expertise includes business restructurings,
tax accounting methods, flow-through entity planning, family wealth and
business succession planning. He works with large companies, closely held
businesses, their owners and families, and high net worth individuals.
Additionally, he assists clients to help them focus on business growth,
transition, and integration matters. Some of his experiences have included:

International business restructurings
resulting in significant tax savings without disturbing operations.

Restructuring organizations to
achieve federal, state, and local tax savings by working with management
to create business efficiencies resulting in significant tax benefits.

Restructuring family ownership
of closely held companies to achieve business succession and family
wealth planning objectives resulting in significant estate tax savings,
achieving wealth transfer and family objectives.
Currently, Mr. Michaels is a part-time
tax instructor at The Ohio State University. He has also been an adjunct
tax professor at The Capital University Masters in Tax Program.
