
Law School Graduate Receives 2003 Hispanic Businesswoman of the Year AwardOctober 6, 2003 Crucita Flecha, a 1995 Capital University Law School graduate, won the 2003 Hispanic Businesswoman of the Year award from the Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The award has been given for the past six years to honor Ohio’s outstanding Hispanic entrepreneurs and recognize its corporate and community supporters. Ms. Flecha has worked for the Columbus City Attorney’s office, Judge John P. Bessey of Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, and the Ohio Attorney General. In 2001, she opened a private practice to serve the legal needs of the Hispanic community. Ms. Flecha serves on the board of several community organizations. She is Vice-President of the Organizacion de Damas Latinas, an organization that provides scholarships to and supports Hispanic youths and is Vice-Chair of the Columbus After-School All Stars (previously known as Columbus Inner City Games), an organization spear-headed by National Chairman Arnold Schwarzenegger. In addition to her professional and community work, Ms. Flecha has been a licensed foster parent since fall 2002. Ms. Fletcha is also a graduate of Malone College, cum laude,
with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. |
