
A National Conference of Minority Professionals in Alternative Dispute ResolutionEliminating Barriers for Minorities in the Field of Alternative Dispute ResolutionPre-Conference Trainings National Conference Capital University Law School will host an inter-disciplinary conference entitled, "Eliminating Barriers for Minorities in the Field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)" on May 20-21, 2003, with a pre-conference, training day on May 19, 2003. The purpose of the conference is to:
The conference will include panel discussions, presentations and training to accommodate various levels of experience among minority ADR professionals. Presentations/panels cover nearly the full spectrum of ADR, e.g. commercial, courts, family, community, employment/labor, and education. There also will be introductory training programs on negotiations, basic mediation, transformative mediation, cultural competence, environmental/public policy disputes, special education (Individuals with Disabilities Education ACT (IDEA)) disputes, domestic abuse issues, NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers), and peer mediation.
