
Capital Law School Wins National Sports Law Moot Court CompetitionFeb. 13, 2002 Capital University Law School won the championship round for the 10th Annual National Sports Law Moot Court Competition held in New Orleans, Feb. 6 - 8. The National Sports Law Moot Court Competition is sponsored each year by Tulane University School of Law. The competition is based on a contemporary legal problem confronting the sports industry. In their oral arguments, teams are scored on their speaking ability; structure of argument; preparation and familiarity with relevant materials; and response to judges' questions. To win the championship, Capital prevailed over Duke University Law School in the final round held at the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. En route to the championship round, the Capital team defeated representatives from law schools at Villanova University, George Washington University, St. Thomas University, University of California Hastings, and Loyola University at New Orleans. Thirty-two teams comprised of two to three students each participated in this year's competition. This is Capital's first championship in this prestigious competition. Ohio; Lyndsey Sloan of Columbus, Ohio; and Carrie Snoke of Lancaster,
