Summer AccessWestlaw Summer AccessNeed to use Westlaw this summer? You will need to register your student ID for summer access. To register, sign onto www.lawschool.westlaw.com. There will be a green block on the right lower portion of the page that says “Need Your Westlaw Password This Summer?” Click on the box that says “Go” and follow the instructions. Students may register at any point during the summer. If a student does not register for summer access, access to Westlaw via student ID will be limited to two hours per month for the duration of the summer. For graduating students, access will cease on May 24 th except for job-searching capabilities, which will be available for one year after graduation. Students have the option to extend their full access through July for bar preparation purposes. Summer access is available for educational purposes only. Educational purposes include summer classes, law review, research for faculty, moot court research, and unpaid externships. Questions? Click on the Get Help tab in the center of the screen. Under “Manage My Account” click on “Update Registration Information.” Check the box on the right for “Summer Access Sign Up” and follow the instructions. Students must register on the lawschool.lexis.com site. If the student does not register for summer access, the LEXIS ID will be limited to career materials only as of June 1, 2009. It takes 24 hours for the registration to be in place. Students may use their LexisNexis Law School Educational ID only for academic purposes. “Academic purposes” include, but are not limited to:
Graduating students can extend access until August 1, 2009. Students who do not register for summer access will have access to career materials only until August 1st, 2009. At that time students who are going to be a 2L, 3L, or a 4L evening student for Fall Semester will regain full access to LEXIS. Questions?
