Life Care Planner Program

Hit the ground running with a program that prepares you — the medical professional — to interact with lawyers, economists and other rehabilitation professionals. Capital University Law School 's Life Care Planner program is the only one in the country affiliated with an American Bar Association approved law school and a major university, credentials that are both familiar and attractive to the legal community.

The Life Care Planner programs are Professional Certificate Programs. Both programs are approved by the Commission on Health Care Certification (CHCC) for the mandatory hours of training in life care planning required of each applicant to sit for the Certified Life Care Planner (CLCP ) certification examination.  All required and elective course hours have been approved for maintenance (CEU) of the CLCP credential as well.

The program is offered as two distinct certificate programs. The LCP Professional Certificate Program requires 136 hours as intensive online modules and one onsite Trial Practice module held in our state-of-the-art-courtroom.  This module affords the LCP student the opportunity to defend their life care plan in deposition and in our courtroom as direct and cross-examination trial testimony under practicing attorneys, a judge and a jury. The LCP Advanced Practice Certificate Program requires 104 hours of advanced practice modules that you select from our 5 online modules and/or our one onsite module “creating a consulting business” which includes the technological office, web marketing, accounting & billing, and creating your own web page.

An Innovative, Convenient Schedule

The Capital University Law School Life Care Planner programs are post-baccalaureate certificate programs.   Modules are completed completely online and only our Trial Practice Skills or our Creating Your Consulting Business, require a trip to our Law School campus.  Take advantage of the only Life Care Planner program that provides you with deposition and trial practice skills...skills which are critical to your success as a life care planner who must routinely perform as an expert witness.  Our unique advanced Medical Research & Writing module will hone your online research and writing skills.

Students who have completed the Capital University Law School Legal Nurse Consultant Program are eligible to have certain Life Care Planner course requirements waived.
