Susan Simms 
B.A., cum laude, Wittenberg University, 1973
M.Ed, Ed.S., magna cum laude, Kent State University, 1975
J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, The Ohio State University, 1982 

After law school, Ms. Simms was a law clerk for the Honorable George Edwards, Chief Judge of the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. Following her clerkship, from 1983 to 1997, Professor Simms did corporate litigation with Simpson Thacher and Bartlett in New York and Columbus, Ohio. Prior to her legal career, she worked as a school psychologist, specializing in child and adolescent psychology and systems intervention. She now teaches legal writing, consults with law firms on legal writing issues and since January 2003 has served as the Director of Capital's externship program.
