Before coming to Capital in 1990, Professor Gilles was an attorney with Baker and Hostetler in Cleveland, Ohio, where her practice focused on media law. Professor Gilles also has taught as a visiting professor at American University (1993-94) and Washington & Lee University (1994-1995). She teaches Civil Procedure, Torts and a seminar in Media Law. Professor Gilles publishes in the area of media law and has served as the chair-elect and chair of the AALS Section on Mass Communication (2003, 2004). Professor Gilles is a past recipient of the Student Bar Association’s Excellence in Teaching Award and is the faculty advisor to the Women’s Law Association.
