Stanton G. Darling II
Professor of Law
B.A., summa cum laude, The Ohio State University, 1965
J.D., Georgetown University, 1968

Prior to joining Capital's law faculty in 1981, Professor Darling taught at the law schools at Stanford, Santa Clara, University of San Francisco, University of the Pacific, and University of California-Davis. He also has served on the faculty of the National Judicial College, the Ohio Judicial College, and the Michigan Judicial Institute. Professor Darling instructs in and has prepared his own course materials for Torts, Civil Procedure, and Products Liability. He is co-author of Ohio Civil Practice, a comprehensive treatise on the Ohio Rules of Civil Procedure. He serves as counsel for the Rules of Civil Procedure to the Rules Advisory Committee of the Ohio Supreme Court. In 1986, Professor Darling was counsel to the Select Committee on the Civil Justice System of the Ohio House of Representatives, and later, was advisor to the Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives on tort and civil justice matters. Professor Darling is the author of the text Ohio Civil Justice Reform Act: 1987 House Bill 1. Professor Darling is also a contributor to Ohio Jury Instructions. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, California, and Ohio and has served as a consultant to the California Committee of Bar Examiners.
