Micah L. Berman
Visiting Professor and Executive Director of the Tobacco Public Policy Center

Micah L. Berman, executive director of the Tobacco Public Policy Center at Capital University Law School, has been named a visiting professor at Capital for 2007-08. Berman will be teaching Torts and Public Health Law.

As executive director of the Tobacco Public Policy Center, Berman regularly speaks to audiences around Ohio about tobacco control issues and he chairs the policy committee of the Ohio Tobacco Control Resource Group.

Prior to being named the Center’s first executive director in February 2005, Berman served as political director for the Fingerhut for U.S. Senate campaign and as a litigation associate with the law firm of Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP. He was previously a trial attorney with the National Criminal Enforcement Section of the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division.

Berman earned a J.D. with distinction from Stanford Law School, where he was managing editor of the Stanford Law Review. He received a B.A. with highest honors in Public Policy from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
