Kenneth R. Spiert

Professor Spiert joined Capital Law School's legal research and writing staff in 1995. He also maintains an active law practice, focusing primarily on criminal and civil rights issues. Prior to joining Capital, Professor Spiert was employed with the Ohio Public Defender Office, where he represented indigent clients in appellate, post-conviction, and federal habeas proceedings. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Ohio, in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the United States Supreme Court. Professor Spiert is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Central Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a former board member of the Central Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
