Professor Mitchell is a member of the faculty of Capital University Law School. Her areas of teaching include clinical education, dispute resolution, interviewing and counseling, negotiation, and mediation. She has been involved in dispute resolution since the late 1970's and since that time has served on numerous committees that have fostered the development of dispute resolution in Ohio. Professor Mitchell has developed mediation projects in Jamaica and Nicaragua, conducted mediation and negotiation training programs, and produced negotiation and mediation training manuals and videos. She is a founding member of the local community mediation center and serves as a mediator in many arenas, including Settlement Week for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
