David D. White ScholarshipThe David D. White Scholarship was established in 1989 by the African American Law Alumni Association to honor David D. White, L’31, the Law School’s first African American graduate. Scholarships are awarded to African American law students who embody Mr. White’s spirit of community service and social consciousness. Preference is given to applicants with demonstrated financial need. Applications for the David D. White Scholarship may be obtained through the Office of Financial Aid. Individual interviews are conducted by members of the African American Law Alumni Association, who determine the scholarship recipients. Event proceeds from the Annual David D. White Award & Scholarship Reception and the Annual David D. White CLE support this scholarship endowment fund. Currently, this endowment is valued at more than $250,000 and supports four current Capital University Law School students.
