David D. White Award & Scholarship Reception

For twenty years, Capital University Law School and the African American Law Alumni Association have presented the David. D. White Award to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the African American community. The award is presented at an annual reception which is hosted by a Columbus area law firm. All proceeds from this event benefit the David D. White Scholarship at Capital University Law School.

The 20th Annual David D. White Award & Scholarship Reception will be held Monday, March 16, 2009, from 5-7 p.m., and will be hosted by the law firm of Crabbe, Brown & James, 500 S. Front Street, Suite 1200, Columbus, Ohio 43215. [ Directions and Parking ]

This year’s award recipient is Floyd D. Weatherspoon, Professor of Law and Director of Minority ADR Initiatives at Capital University Law School. Professor Weatherspoon is the author of African-American Males and the Law (University Press of America, 1998) and is an expert in labor and employment law and mediation and arbitration.
