Reciprocity for AlumniWhat is reciprocity?Reciprocity is a program established between law schools around the country to assist students and graduates in researching and working with Career Services Offices at other law schools to obtain employment. How do I receive reciprocity? In order to receive reciprocity, you must request a letter of reciprocity from the Career Services Office. Your request should be sent with the following information by email (career-services@law.capital.edu) or fax (614-236-7234) to the Career Services Office:
What is the reciprocity process? After you complete a Request for Reciprocity form, the Career Services Office will send a letter on your behalf to the law school where you wish to receive reciprocity. Typically, the requested law school will send a letter to both you and the Career Services Office granting or denying reciprocity. Is reciprocity automatic?Reciprocity is not automatic. Due to the fact that law school career services offices are very busy during certain times of the academic year, each school has dates when reciprocity is unavailable. If I am granted reciprocity, what kinds of services will I receive?Every school offers different kinds of services for reciprocity students and graduates. To find out what services are available from the school you are seeking reciprocity, please see NALP's on-line reciprocity policies.
