Full-time and part-time: Our Juris Doctor program provides students with both full-time and part-time options. Capital's core and elective curriculum challenges students to think critically and express their thoughts logically, clearly and succinctly. Legal Research and writing: The Legal Research and Writing faculty works with students to develop strong writing skills that prepare them for practice. Concentrations: Capital also affords JD students the opportunity to concentrate their degree in one of seven areas of the law: environmental law, labor and employment, governmental affairs, small business entities, publicly-held companies, dispute resolution, and children and family law. Joint degrees: Capital's seven joint degree programs allow students to obtain dual degrees in an expedited time frame, thereby serving students with an interest in both law and another professional discipline. Graduate law programs: Capital's renowned graduate law programs in business and taxation appeal to both the recent law school graduate and the seasoned professional. According to the Princeton Review's The Best Law School's, "one of Capital strongest areas is a massive tax and business law area, boasting more than fifty courses on every area of tax and business law." Dispute Resolution Curriculum: Professor Roberta Mitchell is the director of the academic program on dispute resolution at the Law School. This curriculum is designed for traditional JD students as well as certificate students. The program focuses on: Academic courses, a concentration in Dispute Resolution for current law students and a Dispute Resolution concentration in the LL.M. program Paralegal and certificate programs: Capital is one
of the precious few law schools that houses a paralegal
program. The twelve-month program accepts only those students with
a baccalaureate degree and is incredibly well respected in the legal community
for producing excellent professionals.
