About Columbus
Located in downtown Columbus, Capital University Law School is in the heart of the legal community of one of the nation's most populous states. It is located within blocks of the Ohio Supreme Court; State Capitol; Ohio Attorney General's Office; a State Court of Appeals; a Federal District Court; the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas; and the headquarters of numerous banks, insurance companies and Fortune 500 corporations. The Law School is within one mile of approximately 5,000 attorneys. Columbus residents enjoy a full array of social, cultural and academic activities. Downtown Columbus is home to theaters hosting major concerts, Broadway productions, symphony, ballet, opera, and jazz, as well as home to the Columbus Museum of Art, COSI (a nationally renowned science museum), the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium and a National Hockey League team - the Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus, and the surrounding suburbs, is home to approximately 1.6 million people and is known for its diversity, tight knit neighborhoods and its quality of life.
The Law School is located within a mile of four of the city's trendiest entertainment districts: the Brewery District (nightlife), the Arena District (NHL Hockey, concerts, dining and nightlife), the Short North (arts, dining and nightlife), and German Village (cafes and shopping). All of this, coupled with one of the lowest costs of living among large cities, makes Columbus one of the best cities in which to reside. |
